This Hot Tip with George and Wes video shows you the "Cruise Control Secret Handshake" for BMW R1200CLC, K1200RS, K1200GT and K1200LT motorcycles, allowing you to check the switches/sensors of the cruise control circuit for functionality.

If it doesn't appear you have a bad switch or sensor but your cruise control still doesn't work, take George's advice and replace your tail light bulb with an OEM bulb - not a parts store bulb, there is a difference in this case!

Motorrad Fest Rodeo Course Ride-Through with Shawn Thomas

On October 7-8, 2022, the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America sponsored the inaugural MOTORRAD FEST, which included an E-Prix course for electric bicycles, an ADV Track for adventure bike competitors, and -as the premier event of the weekend- a Police Rodeo.

Motor officers from four departments utilizing BMW Motorrad's authority motorcycles (both R 1200 RT-P and R 1250 RT-P) in South Carolina, Tennessee and Idaho participated in the first MOTORRAD FEST Police Rodeo, building their skills through training and practice on Friday, and competing against each other (and themselves) with three runs each on Saturday afternoon. The competition was fierce, with awards going to the first and second place riders as well as the most improved rider.

The folks who run the US Rider Academy, which is part of the BMW Performance Center in Greer, South Carolina, spent hours coming up with a unique course to challenge motor officers in ways many of them had not seen before. Many of them are also motor officers, and they served as the official timers and marshals for the course. The MOA thanks them for their time and effort, without which MOTORRAD FEST could not have been the success and fun it was. Find out more about the training offered by the US Rider Academy at https://bmwperformancecenter.com/motorrad/. Come to a future MOA Rally or Festival and get 20% off any motorcycle training course the US Rider Academy offers!

MOTORRAD FEST will be back and bigger in 2023. Stay tuned to https://mfest.bmwmoa.org/ for more information.

Check out the ADV Track at https://youtu.be/rWFuQCTQA5w

Getting the clutch slave cylinder and starter off a 2005 R 1200 GS isn't the easiest thing in the world to do ... but it's not the hardest, either. Removing the rear wheel gives you better sight lines and access; removing the swingarm would improve that even more but is really overkill for the operation.

This video is the prequel to our popular (if infamous) Clutch Change video right here on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYSJV6-2n_Q
